Rotron
1/2 PROPIMAX 2 |
The Propimax 2 is Rotron’s most axially compact tubeaxial fan and is equipped with an aerodynamic venturi configured case. These high speed fans achieve minimum (“½”) size with a shortened venturi configuration utilizing the unique Rotron inverted motor construction the axial length of the fan is limited to the minimum measurement required by the highly efficient 2-blade propeller, with no further space sacrificed for the AC induction drive motor. Tubeaxial fans are compact and quiet designs for cooling electronic enclosures under severe environmental conditions in airborne, ground based, and shipboard applications where air can move freely with low static pressure. |
AXIMAX 1 |
The Aximax 1 fan, like other vaneaxial fans, has both aerodynamic impeller blades and stationary guide vanes to enhance static pressure efficiency. These high speed fans achieve maximum performance and minimum size with the unique inverted AC induction motor. Our Brushless DC driven configurations take advantage of a inverted permanent magnet motor, and either internal or external drive electronics. Aximax vaneaxial fans are designed for use in tightly packaged airborne "black-boxes" where sizes and weight must be held to an absolute minimum, where reliability is critical, and where high heat loads must be dissipated with cooling air. |
AXIMAX 2 |
The Aximax 2 fan, like other vaneaxial fans, has both aerodynamic impeller blades and stationary guide vanes to enhance static pressure efficiency. These high speed fans achieve maximum performance and minimum size with the unique inverted AC induction motor. Our Brushless DC driven fans have electronics circuitry mounted in a disk attached to the case hub or in an external module to handle higher power requirements. Aximax vaneaxial fans are designed for use in tightly packaged airborne "black-boxes" where sizes and weight must be held to an absolute minimum, where reliability is critical, and where high heat loads must be dissipated with cooling air. |
AXIMAX 3 |
The Aximax 3 fan, like other vaneaxial fans, has both aerodynamic impeller blades and stationary guide vanes to enhance static pressure efficiency. These high speed fans achieve maximum performance and minimum size with the unique inverted AC induction motor. Our Brushless DC driven fans have electronics circuitry mounted internally or in an external module to handle higher power requirements. Aximax vaneaxial fans are designed for use in tightly packaged airborne "black-boxes" where sizes and weight must be held to an absolute minimum, where reliability is critical, and where high heat loads must be dissipated with cooling air. |
AXIMAX 4 |
The Aximax 4 fan, like other vaneaxial fans, has both aerodynamic impeller blades and stationary guide vanes to enhance static pressure efficiency. This fan series achieves the highest static pressures in the Aximax line due to customized aerodynamics and a robust AC induction motor. Aximax vaneaxial fans are designed for use in tightly packaged airborne "black-boxes" where sizes and weight must be held to an absolute minimum, where reliability is critical, and where high heat loads must be dissipated with cooling air. |
Airflow Switch |
The Rotron Model 2C Airflow Switch is actuated by air velocity rather than air pressure. It is designed for easy mounting on the outside of an air duct with a small light weight stainless steel vane protruding through a hole in the duct into the airstream. The switch can be used as interlock for on off purposes or as a marginal safety device where the electrical contacts are operated at a predetermined minimum flow air. The switch is designed for commercial applications but has been used satisfactorily on certain military projects. Its acceptability on military projects is left to the evaluation of the purchaser. Operates reliably in ambient temperatures of 35ºC to +85ºC. |
Centraxial Blowers |
Centrimil centraxial blowers have an impeller that, unlike the centrifugal blower, achieves a substantial portion of conversion of velocity energy to pressure energy within the impeller itself. It is operated with a scroll so air enters axially and exits tangentially, making a 90 degree turn. Models are available with 50/60 and 400 Hz AC or brushless DC motors. Centrimil centraxial wheel blowers develop high pressure and volume performance at low rotational speeds than vaneaxial fans for quieter cooling of tightly packaged electronic equipment under severe environmental conditions in airborne, ground based, and shipboard applications. |
Centrifugal Blowers |
Rotron centrifugal blowers are compact, sturdy, and relatively light in weight. They are designed for high performance while providig a long, maintenance-free life. Most models are available for either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation, and in either simplex or duplex types. Models are available with 50/60 or 400 Hz AC motors. Centrifugal blowers develop high pressure-to-volume performance at low rotational speeds for quiet cooling of tightly packaged electronic equipment under severe environmental conditions in airborne, ground based, and shipboard applications. Simplex blowers have 1 squirrel cage impeller wheel while Duplex blowers have 2 squirrel cage impeller wheels mounted on a common shaft - both are available for either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. Duplex blowers simplify ductwork and allow greater volume performance in tight locations. As with all squirrel cage blowers, air enters axially and exits tangentially, making a 90 degree turn. |
Fan Heaters/Military Vehicle |
To provide a simple solution suitable for retrofit or incorporation into the original environmental control system, AMETEK Airscrew offers a range of fan heaters suitable for military vehicles. These fan heaters are capable of a wide range of heat outputs and supply sufficient air velocity and pressure to feed duct work and discharge louvres. Their high-pressure capability also makes them suitable for spot heating in addition to conventional ducted systems. Additional applications include demistting of windows and sighting systems. Options and alternatives include special noise attenuation, solid state relay controls, inlet guards and EMC protection. |
HF, HFV & HFG |
HF model 8” diameter propeller fans allow for high airflows at low static pressures with low motor-winding temperature rise. Models are available with airflow in either axial direction and with 50/60 and 400 Hz AC or brushless DC motors |
Inverted Blowers |
Trimline inverted blowers are compact, sturdy, and relatively light in weight. Inverted blowers have the unique Rotron inverted drive motor located inside the squirrel cage wheel. This results in unusual compactness and excellent motor cooling. Models are available in in a variety of Brushless DC and AC (50/60 or 400Hz) voltages. Trimlines are compact and quiet designs for cooling electronic enclosures under severe environmental conditions in airborne, ground based and shipboard applications. They are well suited for applications when it is desirable to have air exit tangentially from a thin blower package and high pressure to volume ratio performance is required. |
JFG & JFGV |
The Premairprop model 10” diameter propeller fans has been developed to deliver more airflow at a higher velocity than the other products in its class. Models are available with airflow in either axial direction and with 50/60 and 400 Hz AC motors. The fan is operable at ambient temperatures of -55C to 70C and will meet all of the necessary requirements of military specification MIL-B-23071. In addition, Rotron can supply Navy standard vibration mounts, 11M15, which can be connected to the device and meet the requirements of MIL-STD-740, enabling the device to reduce structure borne noise. The Premairprop is recommended for ground, radar systems and shipboard applications, but like other Propeller fans they provide flushing cooling air through large enclosures such as radio cabinets, instrument panels, and communication equipment shelters. |
Low Speed Warning Detector (LSWD) |
The Low Speed Warning Detector (LSWD) utilizes a programmable frequency switch capable of turning “on” or “off” a load such as a LED, audible alarm, back-up fan, etc., at a predetermined motor RPM. If fan speed falls below the preset value, the back-up or warning device is activated. Once fan speed exceeds the preset value, it is de-activated. The RPM value is preset at the factory to 33% of the nominal speed of the motor but can be set to any RPM desired. The preset value has a tolerance of ± 25%. |
